• In collaboration with a science communication class at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM), Vertices edited and developed student-written spotlight articles featuring Duke University researchers. Vertices reports on innovative scientific research at Duke and beyond, with a strong commitment to mentorship and community outreach. 
  
  Under the guidance of Dr. Amy Sheck, Dean of Science at NCSSM, and Fedor Kossakovski, Director of Research Communications for Duke University, students interviewed Duke University researchers and developed essential interviewing, writing, and editing skills. Working closely with Vertices Science Magazine’s editorial staff, students refined their articles to convey clear, accurate, and engaging science narratives that highlight world-class research.
